Birgit will share what she learned from her recent trip to Pune India
where she studied with Prashant Iyengar. This workshop is also an
introduction for the upcoming "Fundamentals of Pranayama and
Meditation Series" with Elise Miller and Birgit starting February 15.
Pranayama is import for further evolution and involution on the yogic
path. The breath is an expression of Prana or the life force energy that
enlivens every cell of living beings. With the practice of the art and
science of Pranayama all internal organs and systems as well as mental
attitudes are positively influenced and balanced; the nervous system is
calmed; stress is reduced and longevity increased. Please join this
soothing and revitalizing journey.

Birgit shares her experiences and studies with the Iyengar family. She feels deep gratitude to be able to travel this journey for her and her sadhakas (serene practitioner of yoga)further education and evolutions on the yogic path. Students get an in depth feel of how the practice and teachings are offered at the Ramamani Iyengar Institute in Pune.This 3 hours workshop offers deep refinements and intricacies of the asanas for purification of the body; finer studies of understanding the subtle flow of the breath leading to pranayama for tranquility of the mind Both, pranayama and asana, refine the meditation practice, awareness of I-ness and consciousness unfold on countless layers within and without.
Birgit weaves a fine network of philosophical thoughts in all parts of the practice. Students gradually develop insights and increased knowledge about the self and life itself shines forth, guiding toward a balanced,effortless and graceful practice on and off the mat.
